When it falls to you to inform someone of an emergency that they must deal with by way of some messaging technology, it is best to give them some details of the emergency so that they may be able to deal with the situation with some sort of plan instead of stupidly wondering what the problem they have to solve is.

This is doubly important if you will be unreachable for an unknown period of time after sending this message.

Even just letting them know when they will be able to get more details from you regarding the emergency in question would be helpful.
