Gentle Readers,

I've just been off writing. I'm sorry.

Here, instead let me tell you about Lydia's haircut. This morning lydia was finally so fed up with having her hair brushed she demanded to get her hair cut. She wanted it cut just like Guin, her BFF in Kingston.

This is what she looked like this morning while fending off the hair brush:

Before

This is what she looked like having just come home from the salon.

After

And from the back.

After, from behind.

Since she seems to have my hair, it's going to be all wavy tomorrow, but I think she will be delighted and not cranky.
Gentle Readers,

We had a fantastic weekend at Crown. Our host was charming and enthusiastic and more than willing to do her best to keep us happy and comfortable. Going so far as to make our room a High Comission with wonderful Skrael signs.

The site was easy to get to and we only had to do one minor correction (although it took a couple of tries). It was amply big, especially since the weather was nice enough for the fighting to take place outside. The fighting was really great to watch and A&D were generous enough to let us use their chairs. They also gifted us with a beautiful Candelabra. I think he was just feeling good from authorizing.

Our new prince and princess invited us to join them at the head table and while we were a little disappointed with Lydia's behaviour (I think she was a perfect storm of hungry, tired and bored), we had a lovely time. I was especially shocked to be graced with a few moments of her highness's time before we processed up to the table where she told us how much she had loved her time as baroness and how much it had meant to her. That she took the time to do this was very humbling.

The drive back was fun, even if we saw only culverts and not moose in the forest. We also saw silly restaurants, fit paddlers, trilliums and little traffic.

Sadly, when we got home we had to deal with one of those unpleasant things. You know, where you know that it's only reason is to get under your skin and make you itch for days just thinking about it. There's nothing like dealing with fiberglass removal.

Today is slightly more annoying where I find out that some of the measurements for our kitchen were not quite right and so I need to cancel the order and redo it with some new items.

Drat.
