CrossPost test

Gentle Readers,

I'm testing the cross poster from Dreamwidth. One of the options available is to disable the comments on the LJ post and direct users here for commenting, which they can do with Open ID.

Would you ever comment if I did this all the time?

Wow, that was kind of annoying to set up... but now I can use OpenID here, woo.

Why do you have the two separate blogs anyway, out of curiosity? I suppose I could comment both places, but is there a reason you would post here instead of LJ?

I'm planning on transitioning to Dreamwidth overall. The may reason to have commenting in only one place is to act as a nexus to allow my friends on both systems to cross pollinate.

I don't have any real problem with just cross posting and being done with it, I'm just curious who would bother to comment here and if it's just a matter of convienence or what?

you assign accounts to your main account and it will automatically crosspost your posts with some things enabled/disabled.

I haven't set my account to test the paid version so I haven't seen if you get to try with more than one alternet destination.

Well it took a while to set it up the first time, but it should be easier to comment next time you write something interesting. :)

(You wouldn't happen to have any spare invite codes floating about, would you? Because I'm suddenly a lot more interested if it has a cross-posting feature like that.)

no, but now that you have an open id here you are in on the invite code draw and the beta will open in 10 days where you can get an account for the cost of a month which is, I believe, about $3 (US of course).

I like the energy over there.
I want to support a project that is encouraging so many new female coders.
It's fun to get in on the ground floor.
I don't think that livejournal is going anywhere, I just like to have my options open. I have a blogger account too.

I agree that livejournal is pretty much a decaying corpse.
Mostly I go where everyone I want to deal with has gone.
Sadly, these days, that means Facebook.
