Another Year Older

My 38th year started with an interesting dream. I was at some kind of sword fighting event and stepped onto the field and was untouchable. It was awesome but when I came off the field, my sword was wobbly. I took it apart to see that it was broken at the tang. None of the other blades fit so I wasn't able to continue. Then I was talking with some friends and someone was showing a video of a cemetery where all of the monuments were mechanized to rhythmically splash water over the name plate. I cried because it reminded me of Teta Erna. I woke up at this point, a little sad.
I'm not sure what to expect from thirty-eight. Thirty-seven was full.
The many organization I participate in had great years. It was my first complete year as Baron and the first where we started having more to do that just be present which was good and bad. OCS started growing and seems to be doing well. My Aikido dojo moved to a new location, but I hurt my back and wasn't really able to help and ended up deciding to take a break so I could prepare for my Dean's prize.
I did lots of A&S this year including the Landskenect outfit, some things for Lydia, Cortejo's pennsic wardrobe sweatshop, learning about Langs Messer, restarting Saviolo, studing Capo Ferro with Don Aaron and more.
I graded to level 2 with my kickboxing.
At work I completed a major change the product, participated in my first (and second trade show) and helped with the process of hiring a new developer.
I went to see my first MMA event.
I taught at Pennsic, and although it was small, the class seemed to be well received.
We finished our renovations and Reyl and his Pumpkin moved into our basement. I almost forgot this one as it feels like they've always been there.
We lost my Teta Erna and our first cat.
My daughter turned 7 and continues to be the most amazing child.
I got wished a Merry Christmas by my niece who is also the most amazing child. I also got to see her and my brother and my sister-in-law more than once!
I'm sure there's plenty of things I've forgotten, but I'm going to end this for now.
