Gentle Readers,

It's been a long day today. Just like yesterday I was up and out the door just after 7 to try an get to work early enough that I wouldn't feel too bad about leaving at 4. Things have been switched around and I've had to pick up lydia from her afterschool program the last couple of days. Unfortunately we had no students yesterday. Fortunately today Craig canceled the classes so we could both go to his brother's 40th birthday.

It was a lovely gathering. Lydia had to come with me and she was pretty meh about the whole thing until the band fronted by one of Glen's (the brother) employees started. It was a treo of women with stringed instruments and they were lovely. Just beautiful voices. The Muesettes.

Now, time for sleep. Tomorrow's another early morning.
Gentle Readers,

I just finished watching the 1982 version of Annie. I saw it in the theater when I was 9 and I loved it so much that my parents bought the album. Alex was generous enough to get a copy and bring it here for the girls and he and I and Lydia watched it this evening.

It's an amazing movie. Well done, finely crafted. I love it.

I'm wondering if I want to see the '97 version and see how much they sanitized it.
Gentle Readers,

Usually we listen to big 'A' Alternative stuff during the kickboxing class (Tool's Prison Sex is an excellent work out song BTW) but today, for some reason, it was on a dance channel. So, for the last bit of class while we were doing 100 Supercrunches we got to listen to this:

I guess it could have been worse and they could have played the South Park version:

Or the mash-up with the Dandy Warhols: Horny as a Dandy.

That last one appears to be some kind of Days of Our Lives fan vid about Steve and Kayla. Is it just me or does Steve look like a cross between Rowdy Roddy Piper and Snake Pliskin?

Oh Sweet Creeping Zombie Jesus! There's a chipmunks (or possibly chipettes) version of the Mash-up.
